DIGITAL NOMAD VISA IN GREECE

Since 2021, it has been possible to obtain a Digital Nomad Visa in Greece.

To qualify for this visa, applicants must meet several conditions, including:

  1. Being a citizen of a third country, i.e., not being a citizen of Greece.
  2. Engaging in activities as a self-employed individual, freelancer, or working as an employee.
  3. Providing remote services to a foreign client/clients or working remotely. The client or employer should be a foreign entity in relation to Greece.
  4. Having sufficient resources at the level of a fixed income to cover living expenses during the stay in the country. The required amount of adequate resources is set at 3,500 euros per month. The above-mentioned amount increases by 20% for a spouse or partner and by 15% for each child. For example, if a person wishes to reside in Greece under the Digital Nomad Visa with their spouse and one child, the required resources for living would be 4,725 euros per month. If the adequate resources are obtained from employment or service provision, the minimum amount relates to the net income after paying necessary taxes in the country where work is performed or services are provided. Therefore, to meet the condition for obtaining the visa, having a sum of 3,500 euros per month is considered fulfilled if the taxes in the country where the person works or provides services are already paid. If a person earns an income of 3,500 euros per month and has to pay taxes from this amount, the condition for sufficient resources for living is not met.

The validity period of the Digital Nomad Visa is up to 12 months.
